Inspection Reports

What are GPhC inspection reports?

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) inspects registered pharmacies against five standards. Reports show whether the pharmacy met the standards, with improvement or enforcement action where needed. Premises ID is the same as the pharmacy's GPhC registration number.

Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is next to a GP surgery in a largely residential area near the seaside town of Herne Bay. It provides NHS dispensing services, the New Medicine Service, the Pharmacy First service and blood pressure checks. And it uses patient group directions for the contraception and travel vaccination services. This was a reinspection of the pharmacy following an inspection in September 2024 where the pharmacy was found to be not meeting Standards 2.1 and 4.3 but was meeting the other Standards. The reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Following the last inspection, the pharmacy had reviewed its staffing levels to ensure that its workload was managed effectively. And the pharmacy was currently up to date with its dispensing. The pharmacy had previously not been able to demonstrate that all its medicines requiring refrigeration were being stored appropriately. It had since replaced the affected fridges and records showed that these medicines were now being stored at appropriate temperatures.
