Pharmacy context
This is a community pharmacy on a main road next to a GP surgery in Burnley, Lancashire. It opens over seven days, with extended hours on weekdays. Its main services include dispensing NHS prescriptions and sale of over-the-counter medicines. It provides NHS services such as the Pharmacy First service and it supplies some people with their medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to help them take their medicines properly. It provides a medicines delivery service. This was a reinspection following an inspection in July 2024, where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 4.3. This reinspection focused mainly on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy has improved against all these standards. It has written procedures, which includes all aspects of the use of the new dispensing software. And team members have read the procedures. Current team members are all enrolled on appropriate accredited qualifications courses for their role. The pharmacy is adequately clean and tidy and there are no health and safety tripping hazards. The pharmacy has improved how it stores and manages its medicines enough to meet standards. However the processes for team members to check expiry dates of medicines could be more robust.
